| A programmable single-board computer (SBC) from
Tidal Engineering Corp. has a fully integrated C
development environment and an IEEE-488 general-purpose
interface bus controller for flexible, rapid instrument
development.
Specifically designed as a low-cost turnkey solution,
the SBC488 can be used for a broad range of power supply
and RF test equipment, and for laboratory instrument
applications where IEEE-488 and RS-232/RS-485 control
are required. Built around a Zilog Z180-based processor
with speeds of 9.216MHz or 18.432MHz, the unit contains
EPROM, SRAM and E2PROM, and features a real-time clock
as well as battery backup. In 25-unit quantities, the
SBC with 32k of SRAM is $395 each.
