Tidal's embedded SBC boosts test and measurement product development

Olympic 488 is a high-performance embedded IEEE 488 single-board computer (SBC) that comes with I/O, memory and communications ports, providing manufacturers of test and measurement products with flexible rapid development capabilities for demanding applications.

With the integration of a precision, multi-channel 24-bit sigma-delta ADC, the SBC meets the requirements of high-accuracy instruments and systems. It also supports Z-World's Dynamic C Premier, offering increased application flexibility as well as the ability to create real-time applications. The board is likewise equipped with an IEEE GPIB controller to help OEMS trim development costs and speed time-to-market.

The SBC is intended to serve as a low-cost turnkey solution for a wide range of precision power supply, RF test equipment and laboratory test instrument applications. It is suitable for applications where IEEE 488, RS-232/RS-485 control is required. Aside from RF single analyzers and switching arrays, the product can be employed in control of digital voltmeters, data loggers and programmable power supplies.

Olympic 488 is powered by a Rabbit 2000 microprocessor that operates at 22.12MHz. It is equipped with EEPROM, 128K Flash memory and 128K SRAM for program and data storage. It also features four RS-232/485 serial ports, two onboard relays, and a battery-backed real-time clock. It requires 5W at 7Vdc to 24Vdc.

Pricing is at $475 each, in 25-unit quantities.
