SBC Designed for Rapid Development of GPIB Test and Measurement Products
Tidal Engineering announces that its embedded IEEE 488 product line now includes the Olympic488. A high-performance, single-board computer (SBC) loaded with I/O, memory, and communication ports, the Olympic488 is engineered to provide manufacturers of test and measurement products with flexible rapid development capabilities for demanding applications. With the addition of a precision multi-channel 24-bit Sigma-Delta analog-to digital converter (ADC), the Olympic488 satisfies the requirements of many new high-accuracy instruments and systems. This new SBC supports Z-World's Dynamic CŪ Premier to offer the utmost in application flexibility, as well as the ability to create real-time applications. Powered by the Rabbit 2000 microprocessor operating at 22.12 MHz, it has EEPROM, 128 K of flash memory and 128 K of SRAM for program and data storage. The SBC additionally features four RS-232/485 serial ports, two onboard relays, and a battery-backed Real Time Clock (RTC). Signal conditioning is provided on board for precision temperature measurement using Pt 100-ohm RTDs (Resistance Temperature Device). The boards' IEEE 488 interface provides talker, listener and controller functions. In 25-unit quantities, the Olympic488 SBC is priced at $475.
